2018 Pink Poodle Contest - Rules/Regulations
GUIDELINES FOR THE 2018 PINK POODLE ARTISTS:
-
Have FUN with your design, but we ask that cotton balls NOT be used
-
The committee requested that the poodles' designs relate to Macon or the festival in some way. This is a request, not a requirement.
-
Texture and 3-D are allowed; however, please keep in mind that pups will be moved multiple times and highly fragile designs are discouraged
-
If your design allows, spray your completed poodle with polyurethane or a clear acrylic spray to help protect the surface (optional, but recommended).
-
Each artist will also need to title the poodle and write this information on the BACK side of the dog's raised leg.
-
The Title
-
Artist's Name
-
Artist's Contact Information
-
(This information will be used when we develop the online voting and as we prepare the display at the gallery.
DEADLINE: ALL POODLES ARE DUE BETWEEN DECEMBER 28-30, OR JANUARY 2ND-5TH, 2018!
-
Please return them the location where you picked them up or contact Kari Waltz.
-
This year we hope to be approved as Cherry Blossom Festival sanctioned event so it will be in all the publications. The exhibit at of the poodles and your artwork at The 567 lasts until the end of the month. Any poodles not sold will be distributed around town for decorations.
-
If you miss the deadline, your poodle will not be included in the online voting, eligible for awards, and it may keep you from participating in the future.
SHOW/SELL YOUR OWN 2D ARTWORK DURING THE "POODLE PARADE"
-
Artists are creating a 2D work of art in their media of choice; and it will hang in the gallery for the exhibit
-
Artists can choose any subject matter that is appropriate for all audiences.
-
All artwork should be framed or on a gallery wrapped canvas that is painted on all sides. It needs a wire (not a saw-tooth hanger).
-
You will need to provide an inventory sheet to The 567 with the title, media, size and price of your work.
-
The gallery will receive a 30% commission for the sale of your work, so price it accordingly.
-
Write a brief bio (less than 200 words) that will be displayed with your 2D artwork during the exhibit. Please email it to Colin Penndorf at colin@the567.org by January 19th
-
Drop off your work to the gallery January 30 - January 31 between the hours of 11am - 4:00pm. You will need to sign a form with The 567 and leave an inventory for your piece.
